Kicking off 2006 - iWrite.com
This is a bit late but I figured I would kick off the new year with the best idea to hit the Dome all year.
Simple, eloquent and what some might call quaint. A website that is written entirely by the people sitting at home doing nothing. This site would be fueled completely by other people who feel the need to post their writing. Whether it be poetry, short stories, essays, jokes, whatever. All forms of people will come together to create an outstanding site that would showcase everyone from the ultra-talented prose writers to the 12 year old in a basement that has anxiety problems.
Nothing too revolutionary here, but a concept that would work, and one that I guarantee would create traffic and contributors. The site would be broken down further into genres. Most everything would be posted, good and bad alike. The difference between iWrite and other writing sites is that we would not try to sell the contributors a book that has their “published” work like many of the other sites that try to take advantage of people who think that what they wrote is truly special. Ones writing on this site will be judged by the court of public opinion. Just imagine a site like Flickr for writing.
