Waitmaster (a better title would be needed)
I have actually had this idea for over a year and a half now, but for some reason it came back in to my head today while at Cheddars. The thing about these chain restaurants like Cheddars, Lone Star, Applebees, Long John Silvers, etc.. their business thrives on two things, customer service and turnover, meaning get people in, get people out. The faster you can move them in and out, the better your turnover, the more money you make. Why do you think they put the air in there at like 60 degrees? What waitmaster would do is provide an interactive fun shop for those hour waits you have for your food. It would basically look like a Sony PSP, would have a little interactive screen where you could have several entertainment options while you wait. It would have games for the kids, the adults (ever tried Soduku, that shit is hard), Texas Hold Em… It would also have a countdown that told you approximately how long until you get your table. As well as have a menu that you could pre-order your food. Once the hostess takes your waitmaster, she plops it on the doc, your order goes in to the system, you have your drinks waiting for you, in five minutes you have your food show up. This increases turnover and raises customer service levels. Ever waited an hour for food…pretty much ruins customer service, but not if you have fun games at your disposal.
