Do you ever watch TV and think to yourself; “What is with all these damn commercials?”? You watch a 30 minute program and literally 10 minutes of it is advertisements. Now I know that this is a capitalist society and all, but isn’t it just a little overboard? These commercials are simply making people believe that the things you all ready have are shit, and that you are a fool for not owning the rest.

The idea is to watch a given television channel for a period of 8 hours, record (write down) each item that is advertised, and then price each one out, ultimately coming up with a total dollar amount for that channel. The meaning behind it is to let people know how much debt is being pushed at them each and every day. We then make a website and list out the most “expensive” channels. If nothing else, it is a good social commentary on our great country of consumerism.
