FoulballZone.com ™ - mapping of foul balls at baseball parks

Lately I have really been in to Statistics for some reason. I have been reading crap like the tipping point and freakanomics and getting in to Malcolm Gladwell’s blog. I have been trying to think of how statistics relate to everyday life and how to incorporate that in to some new business. Well I was at the Cubs game on Friday when I thought of this. We had decent seats and I kept thinking this HAS to be foul ball territory, but at days end, not even close. What I thought of was a website that would map out the hottest foul ball zones. All we would need is a sample, like 20 games throughout the year for each team that would map out all the foul balls hit. Once this was done, you could have the foul ball “hot zones.” You could cross section this site with sites like stubhub that would help cross sell areas of seats that are typically not the best sellers, but now they are hot because they have been categorized in a “hot zone.” You could also enter your seat number in to the website and it would give you the statistical probability of catching a foul ball (hey, even I guess a home run). I provided a sketchy image below for illustration, free of charge.
