20bucks.com
July 27th, 2006 Edit
I was thinking about gifts the other day and usually $20 is the common denominator for gift giving. Basically everyone for almost any occasion exchanges $20 gifts. Being the cheapskate I am I was thinking for some reason how if you would stealthily scour the internet for some stuff, you could get a lot of good things for $20. So what we would do is create a website where you could buy packages of goods for $20. For example, the opening day package, where for $20 you could buy say a good baseball book from amazon, a Cubs talking bottle opener and a foam brick to throw at the TV, all from different sponsored websites, etc… Or you could have a “beatnick” package, where you would get the book “howl“, the movie “The last time I committed suicide” and a hip t-shirt from threadless, all for $20. Or “the office” package where you could get the Dwight bobblehead and a poster, … You get the point.

I like this idea. We could even make a site that has different tiers for gifts. A $40 gift section etc., and have it setup around specific holidays - say Father’s Day for example.

Good one, boys. It’s lot like one of my own concepts called 22tees.com — the idea was to have a revolving selection of 22 different t-shirts designs, all at an individual cost of $22 (shipping included.)
Another perfect application of your version would be for any office gift exchange.
