Posts filed under 'Web/Internet' : These ideas are going to “un-bust” the tech bubble and create extraordinary business revolutions.
We have all said this before: “I am going to wait for that movie to come out on dvd.” or “I am waiting for that movie to get to HBO.” etc. The idea is to gather all of this data in one place. The design will be a website that allows members to register, filling out their demographic information (for the most part). Once that is completed the registered user will be met with a page that looks something like this:

The beauty of this page is that it will allow users to get an idea of what other people are thinking about this movie without having to read some lame-o review from a critic who is 101 years old and out of touch with reality. It will also have the option of “drilling down” to sort the votes by age, gender, location, etc. Giving you, the member, the opportunity to see what 18-24 year olds from Alabama think about 3:10 to Yuma.
Cash would come in via advertisements on the site from the studios as well as merchandisers. The other nice thing about having users and polls on a site is that the archived memory of the site will be able to say “People who rented this movie also liked: X, Y, Z.” essentially recommending movies to see. The domain WillUSeeIt(.com) is still available!!

You have got to check this site out . It is a great way to search for new bands. Simply make a “radio station” with a band you all ready like and it will then recommend other bands and play entire songs for that band. A must see surely.

This idea came to me as I was driving around and happened to see an old Lincoln Continental with suicide doors. I have always wanted to rebuild one of those but currently do no possess the fundage. My idea is for all of us out there that see a neat old classic car and have a camera handy will be able to participate in thisoldcar(.com). All it will take is a quick snapshot of the car and a small caption stating the date, time and place that the car was spotted.
Thisoldcar will provide fun for people who simply like classic/interesting cars as well as an opportunity for collectors to possibly contact potential sellers.

Google?? . I do.
DoYouHate … will be a website that allows people to voice their distaste for a particular website , product or even individual. Allowing the individual to make their case. Eventually each “Hatred” page will grow into a community where folk will not only profess their distaste, but also come up with creative ways to fix the problem.

I have been really in to API’s lately. What we would create is a build your own board game website. Pretty much all board games have a dice, characters that move along the game board, and you answer challenging questions. What we would do is build a create your own game board website where users can create their own, possibly using their flickr photos, and submit it to the forum or save it for private use. The top 5 games will all be put in to production and sold to the masses with the creator getting a % of the profits. Anyone can buy their own created gameboard for like $50.

The christmas lights across the street from my house are Ghetto, fabulously ghetto. They have an inflatable tigger holding a present in the tree in front of them, which is wrapped in blinking colored lights, and has two blinking candycanes in front of it. And that is just the tree. The house is Christmas Ghettofied! So what we would do is create a hot or not type site and upload pictures of Ghetto Christmas houses. The houses would get voted on and the winner / top ten would get prizes. In fact, this would probably be easy to do with ning. I think that they have the tools all set up.

Its a mySpace site for “crews.” Each crew, like “The Idiots,” would be given their individual page and then they could interact with other crews out there. Everybody has their own crew and from time to time you feel like a change up. Go to a different bar, different dive, have new conversations about different things etc… It seems like whenever someone new is introduced in to a crew, they pretty much do not last, but if you could get two or more crews together, then it might make for new fun times, or at least a pretty good rumble. Man I love rumbles.

Bought an expensive item at a knock-off price? Want to impress your amigos with the weight of your wallet? Want your boss to think that the $10 wal-mart scarf you got him costs $45 from Macy’s? Just log on to FakePriceTag.com and enter in the UPC code. What FakePriceTag.com would do is create an authentic price tag (that would work at stores if they return it) with an inflated price printed on it.
“Oh ooops, I forgot to take the tag off, sorry.” Only FakePriceTag.com would be the wiser.

Do you work in an office that is either blazing hot or fridgedly cold? Try out the remote temperature guage. Just USB plug it in and it takes the temperature reader of your office that you can log on online and read from home. That way you will know what to wear for the day.

Out of the ashes of your box of spare cords to old electronics and accessories come a hidden gem - for someone else that is. What CordBox would be is a marketplace where everyone takes pictures of all of their cords, uploads them to the website with accurate discriptions, and boom someone else finds it. One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure. For some reason when I moved up to Chicago, I lost the cord to my mp3 player. So that means all the songs on my mp3 player are at least a year and a half old. Now the likelihood of actually being able to find this anywhere on eBay is tough (because who would actually sell just the cord), so I will probably have to go to the OEM and pay $30 for it, which is a kick in the pants.
With CordBox, users will be encouraged to upload their cords by receiving points for every item they upload, which can be used either in the marketplace or cashed out for BestBuy gift cards (we would have to do this VERY carefully).
Now does anyone have a spare cord to the Olympus m robe mp3 player? I could just borrow it, I don’t need to keep it.
UPDATE: Yep, $30. Bastards! Man I was spot on.
